Unveiling Success: A Case Study of CS Center’s Triumph on TikTok and YouTube

CS Center is a channel that I worked on, I posted on TikTok and YouTube. I found great success on the TikTok side of it with two videos with over a million views!

For this channel, I would go on Twitch and find CSGO / CS2 clips that were either funny or featured good gameplay. This required minimum editing, but this helped me learn what works on TikTok.

I grew this account to over 11.7K followers and obtained over 494K likes. This channel had a 4.5% engagement rate with an average of 22.8k views a video with 974 likes as well. In total, I amassed 11,539,520 views with this content.

One thing I learned while running this TikTok account is that the easy way to gain views was through popular figures in the niche. It may seem obvious but I also thought that good gameplay would also bring in views but I was wrong. Those were the videos that didn’t perform well.

Now let’s talk about the YouTube side of things.

On this channel, I experimented with Shorts and Long form content. However, I only had success with one aspect.

I found that longform content showcasing Counter-Strike gameplay was oversaturated. However, It wasn’t with Shorts.

The two best-performing videos I had featured m0NESY. The one that still gains views to this day is one where m0NESY and S1mple faced off and it caused controversy in the comments which helped me gain views.

On this YouTube channel, I amassed 1.4M views with 40,109 likes. There were only 2,160,697 Impressions with an Impression CTR of 3.0%.

However, I grew tired of making CSGO / CS2 content. It became repetitive to me and I had to post popular streamers or the most well known players to get any views. I tried to get back into posting on this channel on TikTok and YouTube earlier this year but I just couldn’t put my heart into it anymore.

This was overall a good learning experience for me to learn with works when it comes to posting eSports content. When you don’t have a personality to showcase and only gameplay, the gameplay no matter how good it is will only do well on Shorts or TikTok if there is a popular Pro Player behind it.
